Nick is an APA Diplomate (American Psychotherapy Association),
an IABMCP Professional Counseling Diplomate (International
Academy of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling, and Psychotherapy),
a CASAC (Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor),
and a CJC (Criminal Justice Counselor). His master and
bachelor degrees are from the University of Bridgeport,
CT., and his doctorate is from Westbrook Unigersity.
Nick is also Executive Director of New Hope Manor, an
all female residential substance abuse treatment center
in Barryville, New York.
Nick is an Instructor for Brown University's online
course program, and an adjunct Instructor for Marist
College. He is also a faculty member of the New York
State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services
Bureau of Workforce Development. Nick is a frequent
presenter of workshops and trainings for addiction professionals.
Nick is the author who has appeared on hundreds of
radio and television talk shows (including Donahue and
Good Morning, America), written six books, and more
than 1,000 articles on a wide range of topics. His magazine
column, "Road to Recovery", appears in each
issue of Addiction Professional magazine, the official
publication of NAADAC and many other professional organizations.
His latest book, Solutions for the Treatment-Resistant
Client, is available from Routledge.
