Position: Managing Editor, Philosophical Practice: Journal of the APPA

Duties: The Managing Editor receives submissions, coordinates peer-reviews, facilitates the pre-publication process in collaboration with the Reviews Editor and the Editor-in-Chief, and participates in editorial decision-making. These duties are normally fulfilled via email. The Journal is published three times per year: in March, July, and November.

Requirements: The Managing Editor should have a PhD in Philosophy, superior communication and organizational skills, and ability to work to deadlines without supervision.

Assets: Familiarity with the literature of and contributors to the field, or a willingness to rapidly acquire such familiarity, are assets. Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to take initiatives in generating submissions and subscriptions are also assets.

Compensation: The position carries a modest annual stipend, based on a percentage of revenues from the Journal.

Training: The outgoing Managing Editor, along with the editorial team, will provide training and guidance to the new Managing Editor.
